Kedulan is a Hinduism Temple where it’s location is in Kedulan Village Kalasan Sleman Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. It is 3 kilometres north west of Prambanan Temple & 2 kilometres north east of Sambisari Temple (about 23 kilometres far from Merapi peak).

It was found by sand miners on November 1993. Like Sambisari Temple, it was found buried by sand of Merapi Volcano Eruption in 1006.

The reconstruction of the temple still in process until now. It is like compiling a big puzzle. Some Archeologist guess if Main Temple of Kedulan Temple high is 8 metres which it has 3 part; temple foot, temple body, & temple roof. It look like Sambisari Temple.

A child named Rahesa (7 years, SD Muhammadiyah Pakem) which living at Pulowatu Purwobinangun Pakem Sleman try to express the situation when Merapi was erupt in his drawing. He is one of thousand child that must flee as of Merapi Eruption.

Sambisari is a village in the flood plain of Kali Kuning which it’s headwaters is in Merapi Volcano. It is 25 kilometres south of Merapi Volcano.
In 1966, a farmer named Karyoinangun working in his rice field, suddenly his mattock striking a stone & its known as a top of temple stone. After doing an excavation, research & reconstitute, in 1987 Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta said that it is a Temple that buried by Merapi Volcano eruption in year 1006. The main temple which is as tall as 7.5 metres was buried by Merapi eruption material. By this fact, we can imagine how horrifying the 1006′s Merapi eruption.

Main Temple Of Sambisari Temple

The temple finally named Candi Sambisari (Sambisari Temple). Sambisari Temple location is 2.5 kilometres north east from Adi Sucipto Airport & 5 kilometres west of Prambanan Temple. It is a Syiwaistic Temple which Syiwa statue occupy in main chamber of the temple. The researchers said that this temple was developed in year 812-838 (Old Mataram Empire). Candi Sambisari has 4 temple building with 50 x 48 metres wide hedge surround. Researchers estimated if the temple is wider than now it seem.
